Glossary
About the dialects. A lot of the slang here comes from African American Vernacular English (AAVE), a full dialect with its own grammar (habitual "be", "finna", dropping "is/are"), and from Chicano English and Caló, which mix English and Mexican Spanish. Hip-hop and the internet carried many of these words into everybody's mouth, so each entry says where a term actually started.
